At the refrigerator, check how far the doors must open so the interior drawers can slide out. A nearby wall can interfere with that movement. Include the manufacturer's clearance requirements before cabinets are ordered.

Picture someone loading the dishwasher while its door is lowered. They should be able to reach the sink and the place where clean dishes belong. Mark any overlap between the dishwasher door and adjacent cabinet doors.

The oven needs a safe approach when its door is open. Identify a nearby surface for setting down a hot pan, then follow the short path between them.

Storage placement
